G.T.R.Guided Thought Reinforcement GTR is an extension or combination of meditation, NLP, and hypnosis rolled together to form a package of a behavior change system. Using the meditative state to induce a hypnotic trance, then using the anchoring system of NLP to place changes under the control of the subject. A good example being Road Rage; By planting an anchor point connected to a calming thought pattern induced by meditative trance the subject is able to control any feelings of rage. By simply touching a finger to the side of the temple the subject can reduce stress and anger in seconds avoiding rage. You can physically touch this point or mentally touch the anchor point both are effective bringing about immediate change in breathing, heart rate, adrenal levels, and anxiety. It sounds deceptively simple, but should only be used by those trained in dealing with hypnotic trance and NLP. This is a very powerful system and must be used with care and forethought. The mediation must be a trance inducing, calming, and easily understood by the subject. Depending on the need of the subject the meditative trance is induced with the needed behavior change incorporated. Anchor points are agreed upon before the trance so the subject is comfortable with the type of anchor point used. Anchor points can be and should be simple and natural for the subject to use. The key to the effectiveness is in subject being in agreement with the behavior change. Ground rules and guidelines are established with the subject before the session begins. A firm idea of the exact behavior change must be agreed upon to bring about the desired results. This system works well for addictions to smoking, poor eating habits, procrastination, and conflict avoidance. |
